Rick identified potential problems even before they arose. Rick was on the job site almost every day and addressed every question we had about the project and other housing questions while he was there. He worked with us in identifying areas where we could save money and even helped us find sub contractors through his network of other jobs that we wanted to tackle in tandem. I would identify Rick as honest (which can be hard to find) and also a perfectionist (which any homeowner would appreciate). If something was not done right, he would have the issue redone until it made everyone happy. I would definitely use Rick again and recommend him to friends.

Even though we said it at the end of our basement reconstruction, we want to say it again: “Thank you, Daunno Associates Construction!” During Hurricane Irene our basement took on water when our sump-pump didn’t work due to an electrical outage. Unfortunately we were out-of-town and water sat in the basement for several days—damaging the carpet and walls. Of the several reconstruction proposals we received, Rick Daunno of Daunno Associates Construction presented us with the most complete proposal describing in detail the scope of work necessary for a total reconstruction at a competitive cost. Once the reconstruction began, Rick and his capable son, Jesse, were present for every step: supervising and guiding the sub-contractors. On several occasions Rick found work unacceptable and had the repairs redone although the deficiency was not apparent to us. The project was finished on time and under budget—almost unheard of in the construction business! And as an extra bonus, the basement was cleaned up at the end of every day during the project. Rick Daunno was on the job site every day; almost always early to be here before the contractors arrived and throughout the day as needed.  His attention to detail was remarkable, he thought about the integration of the various trades and recognized every spot in advance and worked out a solution where the design drawings were not clear.  I believe his approach to his work is to build the job in his head in order to anticipate and overcome any issues.  He conducts himself in a very professional manner with his clients and contractors. He has an extensive list of contractors, all of which I found to be of high caliber.  Rick's background as I understand it is that he worked for many years for a large commercial office business, doing commercial office construction for them as the 'owners representative'.
